See who's going to be on staff this year...
Being on the Staff of SEP is a privelige and a huge responsibility. Each staff member will leave a lasting memory in the minds of each of our campers, and we need Christ-led, supportive, encouraging and competent adults to fulfill these roles.
Join us for another summer of fun, learning and growth! Applications will be online and in the mail soon!
BEFORE APPLYING, PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING: Staff Criminal Records Check 2010
BEFORE APPLYING, PLEASE READ THE WORKER & STAFF REQUIREMENTS BELOW:
- APPLICATIONS TO BE MAILED BETWEEN MAY 21 - JUNE 15, 2010
- Each member of the staff at SEP Silver Meadows is a Shepherd-leader who provides a sense of vision and direction while fulfilling their duties at camp. Each worker should encourage fellow staff, colleagues, and campers, towards Christ-likeness. We also need to maintain a safe, fun, caring, and nurturing environment.
- Each one has the privilege of extending the Kingdom of God through reaching out to all they come in contact with.
- Due to the sensitive nature of running programs for minors, it is agreed by all staff that under NO circumstances will a worker and camper EVER be alone in an enclosed or private area. Further, groups of three should be adhered to whenever privacy is needed such as in dorms, or hiking opportunities (i.e. two workers and one camper, or one worker and two campers, etc.).
- Each worker needs to take this opportunity to serve seriously and be a 'party of one' maintaining the Christ-centredness of the camp experience.
- The SEP Silver Meadows Camp is an alcohol, drug, and smoke-free site. Also, sexual promiscuity or contact will not be tolerated. Anyone caught in violation will be asked to immediately leave camp at their own expense.
- All workers will be asked to participate in leadership and mentoring classes this year. It will be fun to learn some of the latest techniques and how important you are as a camp volunteer. Eric Warren will lead several nights of formal and informal discussions which are designed to make the camp even better for workers and campers alike. Workers tend to have been ‘forgotten’ over the years, but now we can devote some important time to you.
- Workers need to appreciate that the camp is all about the campers, who happen to be all minors. We ask that all workers commit to the full week of camp and participate in all activities. If you cannot fulfill these requirements but would still like to be part of camp, contact the Camp Director.
- Please note that if you have smaller children, you may bring the children with you, and while we cannot provide a pre-teen camp, we will have lots of activities available for them to enjoy.
